My name is Britt, she/her, and I’m a queer Milwaukee and Los Angeles -based multidisciplinary artist with a focus on textiles and photography. My practice revolves around identity and nostalgia and how they mix with the modern world. The importance between remembering the past, while experimenting with new methods, and integrating technology is what drives my work forward. I enjoy exploring these themes by researching the erasure of women and non-binary people’s history, my current focus is during the ‘Old West’ time period. Through the use of my storytelling, photographs and found imagery, I want to demystify the fables of the west. As well as generate a discussion about people who identify as women or non-binary during a time that has been consistently populated with cis-male-centered folklore and glamorization
I currently have a mural on the front of West Hollywood's City Hall that is viewable until April 2024.
